I am currently in Japan, my favourite place for ceramics. A lot of potters think that too, since Japan has a rich and distinguished tradition in pottery. So I don’t get to admire just the pots, but get to know the the environment in which this ceramics is created. I can begin to understand from where all the ideas and inspiration is coming from. I do not want to be all smart about it because I don’t even know a whole lot, so I will only post some photos, and write what I see and feel. I’ve been to Kyoto – Arashiyama and Uji – tea town. In Uji I had proper matcha an tried several different senchas. Surprisingly I haven’t bought any cups yet but the bamboo ones, although a famous flea market in central Kyoto awaits for me today!
