At the end of every August there is a pottery market in Gmunden, Austria. Last year I visited Gmunden for the first time (as a visitor) and I decided to go again this year. Not just because of all the beautiful pots, but also beautiful nature. I got to see potters, talk to them, get some inspiration and see what Europe’s best ceramics look like. Gmunden gives a nice austrian vibe. I like it. My concentration was on wood fired ceramics, celadons, planters, but interestingly all 4 of us (my friends and me) liked the similar stuff. Fritz Rossmann was the absolute winner this year.

Markus Böhm, Germany; last year Chawan, this year two cofffe cups, all wood fired

sometimes I find crystalline glazes to trashy, but I liked these

vase inspiration

Stefan Schwarz, Austria; I like his celadon, but also I know he collects rocks, grinds them and makes his own magnificent glazes
